A brain aneurysm is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain. Most show no symptoms until they rupture, which can lead to brain damage or death within minutes. Early detection saves lives.
🚨 Warning Signs of a Rupture
- Sudden, severe headache ("worst headache of your life")
- Blurred or double vision
- Nausea or vomitting
- Seizure
- Stiff neck
- Loss of consciousness
- Trouble speaking or confusion
📣 Call 911 immediately if someone experiences any of these symptoms. Minutes matter.
💡 Know the Risk Factors
- Family history of aneurysms
- Smoking
- High blood pressure
- Head trauma
- Drug use
- Head trauma
- Drug use (especially cocaine)
- Being female or age 40 and over
