LaLa Speaks Foundation believes in showing up for our community. Our events are more than gatherings. They are moments of education, healing, and action in the fight against brain aneurysms.
Glow Up Night: A Community Block Party for Awareness and Healing
Join us on Saturday, September 20, 2025 for Glow Up Night, a free community block party in the heart of North St. Louis that blends celebration with purpose. This special evening honors Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month and Suicide Prevention Month while continuing the work of long-term tornado recovery following the May 16 disaster.
The 4900 block of Warwick Avenue will come alive with music, karaoke, raffles, giveaways, food, and community resource tables. Attendees will receive access to brain health education, mental health support, and practical resources to strengthen recovery and resilience.
We invite residents to join us for this vibrant neighborhood gathering, including families, survivors, caregivers, and neighbors ready to connect and uplift one another.

Glow Up Night is for and by the neighbors of Warwick Avenue. If you’d like to help make the evening special, here are a few ways you can join in:

Set up a table to share resources, activities, or something uplifting

Bring snacks or bottled water to contribute to the block

Neighborhood Notification
For everyone’s safety, Warwick Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic between North Euclid Avenue and Kingshighway Boulevard from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Cleanup will continue until 8:30 PM. This event is held under City of St. Louis block party guidelines.

🎤 Silent Sounds – Loud Impact
This mobile, community-based education initiative brings critical brain health awareness to schools, wellness fairs, and local events through storytelling, symptom education, and interactive experiences like pop-up karaoke. The goal is early detection and prevention in underserved communities most at risk.

Bring This Program to Your School or Event🏛️ SLPL Community Rebuilding Events
Join us on Mondays in July for a series of community rebuilding events providing tornado relief and recovery resources. Hosted in partnership with St. Louis Public Library, Urban League, and other community organizations, these gatherings offer diapers, food, legal aid, crisis counseling, and more.

In partnership with NAMI STL, this mental health initiative offers culturally responsive healing spaces for Black adults impacted by the May 16th tornado. Each session includes expert insight, peer dialogue, and practical support.

Join us for a powerful session of the Unapologetically Impactful Real Talk Series as we dive into nonprofit compensation. Jeremy Farris of Regions Bank will guide you through IRS guidelines, budgeting, and protecting your worth as a founder.

Every August, we provide school supplies, hygiene kits, and educational materials on brain aneurysm prevention. It’s where advocacy meets action, and where students walk into school with the tools and confidence they need.

🧥 Keeping STL Kids Cozy
Our seasonal coat drive offers more than warmth. It provides safety, dignity, and brain health education for children who often face harsh winters without protection. Every item distributed is paired with life-saving awareness materials.

Goal: 500 coats and care kits distributed
